Group calling has never been easier with Facebook’s free new feature

Remember when we told you about the 5 really cool new Facebook features you’ll love? Well, Facebook is adding another new feature to get excited about, group calling. It is now easier than ever to chat with multiple people at once.

David Marcus, Facebook head of messaging products, announced that the Messenger app will now support group calls for every user. It is available immediately as long as you are updated to the latest version of the Messenger app.

Initiating a group call is easy. Simply tap on the phone icon in a group conversation and manage the individual participants. If you miss an incoming phone call, but the conversation is still in progress, you can easily join in. Just tap the Phone icon.

Participants will see the group name and a list of participating users on the Messenger app display. Group calling is exciting, but there is even more to be excited about in the near future.

Although group video chat is not yet supported, rumors are getting louder that it will be soon. Instead, for now, you should Skype or Google Hangouts for group video chats.
